Principal's Message

Welcome to HCS Scholars Academy High School--a partnership between Horry County Schools and Coastal Carolina University designed to provide advanced learners with the level of academic rigor commensurate with their abilities. Our purpose is to challenge minds, nurture hearts, and empower spirits through engaging in academic inquiry.  Providing a rigorous course of study of Honors and Advanced Placement courses, Scholars Academy prepares motivated students for post-secondary success. In addition, our school is located on the campus of Coastal Carolina University which presents an invigorating setting for learning and allows students to be immersed in a culture of academia while earning the equivalent of two years of college credit.  Students are afforded the opportunity to participate in research with college professors, attend college-sponsored events, and take university-level courses while still enrolled in high school.
