For Parents
Dear Parents,
Have you ever wondered what was going through your teenagers' minds? Did you think, “I can’t help them with school; they are smarter than me. I don’t know what to do, so I’ll just let them do their thing”? Welcome to Scholars Academy where we embrace challenge and learn together!!
Here at Scholars Academy, it is imperative that you stay involved in your children’s lives even if they try to push you away. There are many choices that you must make during these high school years, and being part of a team with the SA faculty and staff is one of the most important choices you can make for your students. We know you are proud of them, and we are too. We want to make sure that together, we do everything we can to get them to the next chapter of their educational careers as well as be prepared as possible. We also encourage you to build relationships with other parents and seek their advice. Raising a Scholar is not easy, and many times we have parents who have experienced similar issues and who can help walk you through the difficult times.
Scholars Academy provides many opportunities for parents to stay involved through participation in the PTSO and its MANY events, including volunteering for field trips and other activities. Take it from the dad of a former SA student: these years will fly by, but I would not change the time we spent together while he was in high school. I know there were days where he did not want to know me, but years later he brags that he went to school with me every day and how much we got to do together. While you cannot come to school every day, you can get involved and cheer them on just like you did in elementary school. They may not say it aloud, but later in life, they will acknowledge that they were glad you were a part of their high school careers.
Join us, for the fun, the laughter, the tears, and the adventure that is HCS Scholars Academy!!
